As part of its overhaul initiative, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) wanted residents to help shape the lake city into a ‘smart’ one. TMC has now set up booths across the city where residents can communicate with the administration about the changes they want in their city and also suggest how to achieve it, Times of India reported.
Booths have been set up at railway stations, bus depots and other public spaces. The drive follows an interactive session conducted recently in the city.
An official told residents about projects being planned in the city, including the waterfront, lake rejuvenation, water and sewage treatment plants, better connectivity and accessibility within the city.
The issue of improved transport was also discussed. Several residents from all walks of life including architects, planners, doctors and professionals participated in the discussions informing the administration of their present woes and also suggesting solutions to be implemented.
