Voting for the Agra Smart City project has crossed the 200,000 mark. Based on the number of votes and suggestions made, Agra is ahead of other cities seeking Smart City projects with central assistance, said officials.
A special purpose vehicle (SPV) is being created on the suggestion of the consultant Urban Management Centre, which has taken feedback from Agra Municipal Corporation (AMC) officials and citizens.
The draft plan for the Smart City will be finalised and presented before state-level meeting on Smart Cities on Nov28 at Lucknow. After this, it will be sent to the central government for final permission on implementation, an official said.
Public participation in project formulation will ensure a total of 16 marks for the Smart City project. Agra has also registered close to 70,000 suggestions related to three main components of the project and several smart ideas under the Pan City initiative, officials said.
