The British government will support the Kochi Corporation in its efforts to qualify as one of the 20 Smart Cities of the country.
A memorandum of understanding for supporting the city was reached between the British Deputy High Commissioner Bharat Joshi and Kochi Mayor Soumini Jain, who exchanged documents.
Atkins, a British consultancy firm would offer technical support to the city. The agency would spend around Rs. 23 million for the project.
The authorities said the vision document would be finalised in the coming days after discussions with the Kochi Corporation, the Greater Cochin Development Authority and the district administration.
