Lucknow corporation officials have said the citizens still have a chance to   give suggestions to prepare Smart City proposal in order to get into the second stage competition to become eligible for the smart tag.

Poor participation by citizens became the major reason for failure of Lucknow to make it to the first list of Smart City. Lucknow Municipal Corporation is now seeking suggestions before it prepares the proposal for the second time.

The corporation has appealed to people to log on to my.gov.in and express their demands and suggestions on how Lucknow could be turned into a Smart City.

With barely 19,000 suggestions, the city scored the lowest in Maharashtra on citizens’ participation last time.

Making efforts to increase public participation, LMC is planning to upload the old proposal on its official website lmc.up.nic.in, so that people can refer to it and come up with better suggestions.

Residents can suggest ideas by logging on to mygov.in or lmc.up.in. They can also post their suggestions on Facebook by logging on to ‘Art City to Smart City’ page or on twitter with #smartcity.
